Best newly minted (if loosely defined) neighborhood for destination dining

Noble Square

I've lived at Noble and Chicago in West Town for nearly three decades, but trend-trackers keep changing the name of my neighborhood. The nom du jour is Noble Square, and judging by mentions in the press, its amorphous boundaries are defined by the latest crop of food sources. These stretch from the Butcher & Larder and Frontier on Milwaukee to just-opened the Black Sheep, Bia for Mia, Kai Sushi, and a bevy of others on Grand. Chicago Avenue also has its share of newcomers, among them Leopold, but truth to tell, mainstays like West Town Tavern and Green Zebra made the hood a dining destination well before all the hoopla. —Anne Spiselman
