This volunteer-run organic greenhouse and community garden holds workshops on everything from crop rotation to seed starting, and in the fall it holds a perennial giveaway. But its annual plant sale in the third weekend of May is its blooming glory, when the doors are thrown open and gardeners swarm over more than 150 seedling varieties. The tomatoes are the main draw; heirlooms in a head-spinning variety of flavors, shapes, and colors, but there are plenty of herbs, flowers, and other vegetables too—from Green Deer Tongue lettuce to Red Metamorph marigolds to Uncle David's Dakota Dessert squash.
