This week's Early Warnings include several veteran players and bands who have had a hand in shaping their respective scenes. Garage-rock guru Greg Cartwright (Oblivians, Reigning Sound) recently joined forces with Coco Hames of the Ettes to form the Parting Gifts, who play the Empty Bottle in early March. At the end of March, avant-garde collective the Residents performs a pair of shows at the Museum of Contemporary Art. And finally, Brazilian heavy-metal diehards Sepultura hit Reggie's Rock Club in May with Belphegor.

Other show announcements of note this week include Destroyer with the War on Drugs at Lincoln Hall, the Greenhornes at Double Door, Jacuzzi Boys at the Hideout, and Sharon Van Etten at Lincoln Hall.
