Sweet Cobra headlines Kristen Romaniszak benefit

On February 16, an unusually violent winter in Wicker Park took a turn for the worse with the robbery of flower shop Asrai Garden. News of serial assaults and muggings had the neighborhood's residents and workers on high alert, but the near fatal stabbing of shop employee Kristen Romaniszak still came as a shock. (Luckily, a suspect has been arrested.) The community has rallied in support, and on Monday the Double Door hosts a benefit show to raise money for Romaniszak.

Brutal heavy-metal trio Sweet Cobra headlines. Also playing are long-running local punk rockers Canadian Rifle and former Horrors member Paul Cary. The show starts at 7 PM and the suggested donation is $10, but larger amounts will be gladly accepted. Proceeds go to help Romaniszak compensate for lost wages (she's still unable to work) and cover the other costs of the attack.
