LA electronic duo Rhye are starting to get a bit of a buzz going with their recent debut EP, Open, and that's surely in part because they deliberately disguise their identities. They say they want to focus on the music, not on themselves—but in doing that they've inspired a number of writeups that discuss the secretive nature of the project just as much as the music itself, if not more.

The first time I heard the song "Open," I understood the hubbub. It's a delicate, silky number with the kind of warm sensuality that so many nu-R&B acts have tried to capture since the XX made it big. The vocals also provide some vital information that helped me figure out who the musicians are—or who I think one of them is, at least.

I was sure I'd heard that soft, butter-melting coo before, and that it belonged to Montreal artist Milosh, whose Meme I've kept on repeat since 2006. It's not quite proof, but I did find corroborating evidence online: some scattered online comments and a few Twitter posts on his account, one documenting his recent move to LA and a couple linking to the Fader's premiere of "Open."

Of course, I could always be wrong. We'll have to wait until the folks behind Rhye are comfortable letting people know who they are. Until then, we have today's 12 O'Clock Track. (Be sure to check out its brilliantly edited NSFW video too.)
