  • Local designer Lara Miller's wares are featured at the Clever Alice pop-up shop
Clever Alice closed its bricks-and-mortar boutique earlier this year, but it's back in physical form—temporarily, at least—with a pop-up shop through Sunday. Among the more than 25 designers and labels from Europe, Brazil, and the U.S. are Chicago lines Lara Miller, Crescendo, RBC Showroom, Joshe Gifts, C/fan, and Anna Hovet, all at prices up to 75 percent off. It continues today through Saturday, 10 AM to 7 PM, and Sunday, 11 AM to 5 PM, at 409 W. Huron.

Florodora continues its spring trunk show extravaganza on Friday by featuring locals Anna Hovet, known for her streetwear-inspired designs, and handbag maker Brynn Capella. Hovet will be at the original store at 330 S. Dearborn while Capella will be esconced at Florodora Shoes, a hop, skip, and a jump away at 348 S. Dearborn. They're both from noon to 6 PM.

Also Friday, new start-up Sandpiper Imports, which imports hand-crafted silver jewelry and accessories from Bali, is celebrating its launch with a party that includes fair trade and vintage vendors Seek Vintage, Greenola, Malia Designs, Mr. Pickles Designs, and Bad Bear Designs. It takes place from 6 to 9 PM at Design Cloud, 118 N. Peoria.

On Saturday, designer Shalini Sharma brings her line of reversible jersey dresses and separates to Joseph Michael's Salon and Spa, 1313 N. Ritchie Ct., from 10 AM to 4 PM. A portion of proceeds from the event will go to the EarthHeart Foundation, an organization that celebrates mothers as peace builders and change leaders.

Also on Saturday, City Soles, 2001 W. North, features the Cushe brand with giveaways, raffles, and more from noon to 5 PM.

All weekend, more than 75 vendors will take part in Modern Vintage Chicago, where you can find secondhand designer pieces as well as just plain ol' vintage. It's from 10 AM to 6 PM on Saturday and 10 AM to 5 PM on Sunday at Plumbers Hall, 1340 W. Washington. Admission is $10, $8 if you buy online in advance.
