2 Sparrows joins with North Shore Distillery to host a Fall Flavor Festival Dinner in celebration of Craft Spirits Week. Chef Gregory Ellis pairs dishes like sweet potato pave with tobacco cream sauce and house-made fettuccine with lamb ragout with cocktails made with North Shore spirits. Argus Brewery holds its inaugural Disk Golf Open and Oktoberfest. General admission includes food, six drink tickets, and a walking tour of the old Pullman factory. The season of beer celebrations continues at Union Station with the return of the Chicago Beer Festival. At the 9th Annual Mokena Food & Wine Fest, wines accompany specialty dishes prepared by 12 local restaurants, vendors sell gifts, and local musicians give live performances. Former Goose Island brewmaster Greg Hall hosts a collaboration between Harmony Grill and his own Virtue Cider.
