As part of the Walter Netsch Lecture Series, aerial photographer and author Lawrence Okrent lectures on the gradual transformation of Chicago's cityscape and lakefront at the Claudia Cassidy Theater at the Chicago Cultural Center.
To celebrate the recent installment of ancient Greek, Roman, and Byzantine art in the Art Institute’s new Mary and Michael Jaharis Galleries, the Poetry Foundation hosts Word Outleaps the World, in which local actors dramatically read the works of historical thinkers including Homer, Plotinus, and Sophocles.
In an effort to raise money for Alzheimer's research, the improv comedy troupe Think Tank will perform new holiday-themed sketches at Fizz Bar and Grill.
