Looking for something to do today? Agenda's got you covered:

While modern illusionists are busy locking themselves in Plexiglas coffins and dressing like Hot Topic employees, The Magic Cabaret, which runs every Wednesday at 8 PM at the Greenhouse Theater Center, remains a go-to performance for magic done the old-school way.

Sheffield's hosts the latest edition of Reading Under the Influence. The theme is "the Transmogrifier," and readers include C.J. Arellano, the Moth StorySlam all-city champion Shannon Cason, and Solo in the 2nd City live lit series co-host Melinda McIntire.

It's day two of the Chicago Improv Fest. A new format this year organizes the funny into nine categories: long-form, short-form, genre, experimental, alternative, musical, emerging artists, puppetry, and improv onscreen. A full schedule's available here.
