Scotland Yard Gospel Choir singer Elia Einhorn moved to Brooklyn in 2012, but we'll consider him a Chicago homie forever (even though he was born in Wales). Einhorn tells Gossip Wolf he has a new bedroom band called Fashion Brigade—really a solo project enhanced by "collaborations with amazing musicians on almost every song," in his words. Last week on Bandcamp he posted Fashion Brigade's first track, a duet with Exene Cervenka, whose part he recorded backstage at an X show. Einhorn's first tour should hit Chicago in October, and he'll put out a cassingle via local indie publishers Curbside Splendor later this fall.

As Gossip Wolf has reported, former Bloodiest bassist Ben Clarke often works with cool collaborators on his rock project Quarter Mile Thunder—and the latest is the Illinois Arts Council. The IAC gave Clarke a grant to finish an album this summer, and he spent the past few months holed up at Pieholden Suite Sound with engineers Matt DeWine and Josh Dumas and guest musicians including Fred Lonberg-Holm (cello), Bruce Lamont (saxophone), and Jim Becker (fiddle). Clarke plans a limited vinyl run of the resulting four-song self-titled LP in November, and in a week or two the album should be on Bandcamp as a name-your-price download.

Gossip Wolf can't get enough of brutish local rock outfit Fake Limbs, so we'll hop on any side project its members start—including Burn Permits, where guitarist Bryan Gleason plays bass. The trio's fuzzy, rollicking debut, Ochs, is available now on Bandcamp, and they're dubbing cassettes too. Burn Permits play Fri 9/19 at Township with Velocicopter, Like Like the the the Death, and Texas Chainstore Manager.

After Slayer tore through Reign in Blood at Riot Fest on Friday, this wolf hears that they recuperated from the dreary weather at NoMi Kitchen downtown—hope the dudes ate their maki "Piece by Piece."
