Paul Kelvington, who founded Minutemen tribute band Econoline in 2010, has rounded up buddies Kevin J. Frank (Haymarket Riot), Adam Reach (Poison Arrows), and Jay Ryan (Dianogah) to perform as the Fugazi tribute Instrument. Though this Wolf could joke that most of Frank's bands have sounded like Fugazi tributes, this time it's for a good cause. On Sun 6/3 at Lincoln Hall the four-piece will perform 13 Songs and donate the proceeds to help Girls Rock! Chicago buy 20 drum sets. The camp provides a week of music instruction and girl power to wannabe rockers ages 8-16—and of the more than two dozen similar operations in North America, it's one of the largest and fastest growing, and sorely in need of more equipment. (Gear donations are always welcome.) The first session starts June 25, and a few spots are still open for the second.

Local noise-punk trio Running just celebrated the release of its second LP, Asshole Savant, with a show at Rainbo, and Sunday the band heads into the studio to work on a split seven-inch with California garage band Blasted Canyons. The record will come out in late summer or early fall on Castle Face, which has released music by Bay Area garage luminaries Ty Segall and Thee Oh Sees.

More than four years after Denver-via-Peoria posthardcore band Planes Mistaken for Stars played their final show (and almost two after their previous reunion), they're gearing up for a short tour. "We just miss each other," says front man Gared O'Donnell. "Everything just sort of aligned that we can all get into the van for a couple weeks." Since the breakup, O'Donnell and guitarist Matt Bellinger have stuck around Denver, playing in Hawks & Doves and Ghost Buffalo, respectively, and drummer Mike Ricketts and bassist Jamie Drier have moved to Chicago and joined Onyou. The Planes tour begins at Ultra Lounge on Sat 8/4; O'Donnell says he doesn't know if the band will keep playing or record new music.
