When a movie's first scene shows one thug getting the top of his head sliced off and another being chopped diagonally in half, you know you're not in for much of a dramatic crescendo. Korean pop star Rain, oiled up nice and decorated with bloody stripes, plays the title killer, who's chased around Berlin by a dogged Europol agent (Naomie Harris) and locked in a feud with the deadly ninja master who raised him (Rick Yune). Larry and Andy Wachowski (The Matrix) produced this soulless, hyperbolic actioner, again handing over the directing chores to James McTeigue (V for Vendetta). R, 99 min.
