A sweet-natured underachiever (Craig Robinson) follows his ambitious lawyer girlfriend (Kerry Washington) to her family's resort home in the hope of winning over her father (David Alan Grier), a humorless federal judge. This big-screen sitcom barely makes sense; the characters change from connivers to gullible idiots (and vice versa) seemingly at random, and one can't imagine why the mismatched lovers would be together in the first place. Writer-director Tina Gordon Chism implies that people should accept each other for who they are, but with no genuine insight to back up this moral, it feels hollow.
