  • Maps and information on U.S. fatalities as a result of our latest empire-building venture at Iraq Coalition Casualty Count (scroll way down for map options by city or state). Arguably a map of casualties per capita in each state might add some useful information.

 

  • Subtopia's "Guide to Military Urbanism" has a collection including maps of war profiteers and patterns of "incarceration and return" in New York.  (Hat tip to 3 Quarks Daily.)

 

  • Where do flickr.com photos come from? The Map Room links to a "choropleth" map of same; for full functionality, use GoogleEarth, but you can just look at what's on the page too. Also check this story out -- it is definitely possible to create a map that's too good for government work. Temple University did it.
