If you want to spend $20-$40 for a screensaver that's both stunning and ultrageeky, this is it. But you can watch it for free at Molecular Expressions. Starting with the wide view from space, 10 million light-years from the Milky Way galaxy (1023 meters) it gives a ten times smaller close-up every few seconds, down through an oak tree branch outside a Tallahassee lab (100 meters) and on down to a "view" of some quarks (10-16meters).
Of these 40 views, only ten or so are familiar from our personal experience. So—does it make you humble that we know so little, or proud that we know this much?
