Wolfgang Puck goes kosher downtown

I missed this in the dailies, but was interested to see that there are plans to open a kosher restaurant in Chicago this fall--according to the Jewish Press there hasn't been one since La Misada closed at the Hyatt: "Now comes word that the Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies and Wolfgang Puck Catering Inc. are bringing kosher back to downtown Chicago. The kosher cafe run by the famous chef's catering company is set to open in November on the second floor of the new Spertus Institute building [610 S. Michigan, just north of the current location], under the supervision of the Chicago Rabbinical Council." There's more about the plan in the Spertus press release and this Crain's article, from which comes this comment: "It’s a big deal,” says Rabbi Ira Youdovin, executive vice-president of the Chicago Board of Rabbis. “Many people who keep kosher will have an option downtown and it’s Wolfgang Puck. It’s not chopped liver.”
