Grace Delcano's mobile Galewood Cookshack, a fixture at the Logan Square Farmer's Market, is set to be featured on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives tonight at 9 PM. It's the second time the Bart Simpson-coiffed Guy Fieri has featured a Chicago barbecue purveyor (the first was Smoque).
Grace says that, though Fieri has a reputation as a douche, "I thought he was really quite nice, very knowledgeable about food (barbecue in particular). . . . He said my rub needed a little more salt, but my sauce was right on, and that my barbecue 'could stand up against the big boys.' They were out filming late at White Palace, I think, the previous night, and he wanted to skip our shoot -- he didn't believe he'd find good barbecue, served from an RV, at a little farmers' market in Chicago . . . ha!"
