The Tribune has a great piece by Steve Schmadeke on artist and Tinley Park native Keith Edmier, a former assistant to Matthew Barney who reconstructed the interior of his suburban Illinois home, circa 1971, as part of a career retrospective at Bard College. The curator of the exhibition notes: "In Keith's vision there's a kind of equality between that house and the Tiffany room at the Brooklyn Museum." It put me in the mind of the Thorne Miniature Rooms at the Art Institute, except, you know, not miniature.

If you'll allow me some beef, however: why are there no pictures on the Trib's Web site? There are pics in the print edition, but if you want to find any online, you have to go to--sigh--the New York Times (the kitchen is amazing). The Tribune gets a lot of crap as a journalistic institution, but they do have some really good features journalism. Unfortunately, you wouldn't always notice unless you really look around or read the print edition.
