This weekend the Alliance Francaise hosts two free events as part of Festival de la Francophonie 2008. Tonight, from 6 to 10 PM, it's Canada and Québec—Food, Folk Music and Film, including cheeses, charcuterie, wines, and beers "from above the 49th parallel," a set by the folk band Mauvais Sort, and a screening of the drama "La Brunante." Haiti: Music and Dancing, on Saturday from 6:15 PM, features Haitian cuisine, performances by Louis-Philippe Valcy and the Chicago BARAKS, and demonstrations by the Tamboula Ethnic Dance Company.
