I like records like Grampall Jookabox's new Ropechain. It's weird and complicated and strangely perplexing but also a lot of fun to listen to. (It's also one of the very few things associated with Sufjan Stevens that doesn't cause my eyes to roll completely out of my head.*)
Just in case the clanging lo-fi beats and buzzy, nitrous-y hooks of Jookabox mastermind David "Moose" Adamson weren't weird enough, he's also put together a video game where you make him turn babies into money, turn money into milk, and then feed the milk back to the babies, all to the tune of his heady single "The Girl Ain't Preggers." It's a nice way to inject a little surrealism into your day while simultaneously wasting your time. That's called multitasking.
* I can't snark on Asthmatic Kitty's Habitat compilation to benefit Habitat for Humanity either. I'm not that much of a dick.
(And yeah, I know I'm losing points in the picture, but taking a screenshot while not sucking at a video game is really hard.)
