For February's sixth annual Extreme Beer Fest in Boston, BeerAdvocate and Dogfish Head brewery are teaming up to "challenge and change palates" by creating a beer whose ingredients include maple syrup, chestnuts, green peppercorns, and Korean corn tea in addition to the more traditional malt, hops, and yeast. They're holding a contest for naming the brew; the winner gets "extreme booty," including two VIP passes to all sessions of the Extreme Beer Fest, a private tour of the Dogfish Head brewery with founder and president Sam Calagione, a chance to tap the firkin at Night of the Barrels, and of course "a brief showering of fame and glory." All entrants must be 21+ and have an account on beeradvocate.com (creating one is free).
