Dogsledders show off their teams of Siberian huskies and discuss their Iditarod experiences at the Park District's Polar Adventure Days. Artists will make ice sculptures and reps from adventure travel outfitter Northwest Passage give an arctic camping demo, while a team from REI discusses other winter activities. Snowshoes will be available to try for free (“if there is snow”), and arctic birds of prey will be exhibited. The first 500 visitors get a free Polar Adventure Days mug filled with with hot chocolate. noon-4 PM, Northerly Island, 1400 S. Lynn White.
