As TOC reported, the Ukrainian Village boutique SoKo --a cheerful little spot specializing in kicky women's wear--was about join the growing list of Chicago boutiques shutting down last month until loyal customer Amanda Wood came to owner Sheri Roney's rescue, offering to buy into the business as a partner. Wood, who runs her own personal assistant and organizing service, would seem to have the skills to keep the shop running smoothly. It's nice to hear about a happy ending for a change.
The store hosts a meet-and-greet with Wood tonight from 6 to 8 PM. UPDATE: Roney just called to inform me that the meet-and-greet has been canceled because Wood, who is eight months pregnant, is not feeling well. But she assures me they'll reschedule.
