On Friday from noon to midnight, Wicker Park and Bucktown retailers take part in Fashion Run '09, featuring sales, mini spa treatments, and drinks and treats. Participating boutiques include Serpico, Joe's Jeans, and Bazar.
Also tonight, from 6 to 9, Robin Richman holds a cocktail hour/trunk show/meet-and-greet with two French designers: Marc Le Bihan, known for deconstructed clothing inspired by menswear, and accessories designer Jean Francois Mimilla.
Tonight at 7, the Chicago Fashion Foundation hosts the local premiere of the documentary Valentino: The Last Emperor (which I previewed here last week) at Landmark's Century Centre; afterward director Matt Tyrnauer will take questions, and after that the CFF group will get a private audience with him. Tickets are $10; meet in the lobby at 6:45. Tyrnauer also answers questions after the 7 PM screening on Saturday.
On Sunday it's the ultimate bargain "shopping" event: the city-wide Chicago Clothing Swap. It's from 1 to 4 PM at the Empty Bottle. Don't worry if you weren't organized enough to drop off your stuff in advance--you can still bring it with you, between noon and 3.
