Puniani is co-owner of the new South Loop fast-food "Indian diner" Chutney Joe's. Check out his bio:

Vijay ran a restaurant in New Delhi, India in 1974. The government inspectors wanted bribes and handouts from Vijay to keep his restaurant open. With the corrupt government in India it is very common for the government to expect bribes even if you [sic] business is legit. Vijay would not agree to bribe them, so the government fabricated a false case, was sentenced to jail and the restaurant was shut down. Vijay left India with a wife, two kids, and $300 to come to America. He swore he would never go back to the restaurant business.

Obviously he reconsidered. Look for a review next week in the listings.
