You've only got 14 months to get ready for the Chicago run of Shrek the Musical. DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions announced today--appropriately, Shakespeare's birthday--that they'll bring a road version of their cross-platform family entertainment product to the Ford Center for the Performing Arts two Junes from now. Bizarrely, the book and lyrics are by David Lindsay-Abaire, who won a Pulitzer for Rabbit Hole, which is about a couple mourning the death of their child. If only they'd taken the kid to see Shrek, you know . . . before.
