The MCA's First Friday event is a good excuse to get dressed up. Phil Pelipada, a 39-year-old graphic artist, was decked out in a pink button down, a blue vest, and bright blue New Balance sneakers (which I didn't get a good shot of). He says he felt "a little like a Skittle."
Painter Amanda Joy Calobrise, 31, wore a 50s cocktail dress: "I'm trying to impress a friend."
Proof that you shouldn't make assumptions about people based on their clothes: I was surprised to find out that Robert Ventergern is in the army, despite the military styling of his purple jacket. He found it one a trip to England. His inspiration: "To keep warm."
