6/6-9/19 -- Workouts in Millennium Park

Starting this weekend, the Pritzker Pavillion in Millennium Park will host free classes with instructors from the Lakeshore Athletic Club every Saturday morning through September 19th. Tai chi is at 7 AM, yoga at 8 AM, pilates at 9 AM, and a different martial arts/dance/aerobics class each month at 10 AM. In June the 10 AM slot is filled by a terrifying-sounding "body combat/body attack/body jam" class, a combination of karate, boxing, tae kwon do, tai chi, and muay thai. In July, attendees can learn capoeira, the Brazilian combination of martial arts, dance, and music. The Brazilian trend continues in August with a samba class. The final dance class will be Zumba, a form of aerobic inspired by Latin dance.
