First the factory worker, now the personal shopper

At Covet you start out by looking at a pairs of pictures of celebs in all their sartorial glory--plus the occasional bottle of wine vs. glass of beer or Golden Gate Bridge vs. Eiffel Tower--and choosing the one that's "more your style."  (This can be difficult, as occasionally neither option is anything you would wear in a million years.) Then, after you set up an account (or use your Facebook account to log in) the site tells you your style. Mine was Couture Conservative, with elements of Couture Modern and Couture Minimalist: "One can't help but note your timeless elegance. . . . Impeccable craftsmanship and au courant details influence every ensemble." Aw, I'm blushing.

Then the site asks you to choose your preferences for shoes, tops, skirts, pants, and dresses--A-lines, high waists, button-downs, zebra prints, plaid, and so on. Based on your answers the site will send you picks. It'll also edit out any brands you despise and look for those you love. We'll see how well it works in the coming weeks.
