Two events tonight aim to capture the hearts and minds of consumers with that old standby in the art of persuasion: free booze. The "Old School Summer Throwdown," organized by the cheeky bulk-emailers at Thrillist, promises free-flowing Dos Equis and Canadian Club, and an era-unspecified retro vibe, at the Holiday Club (4000 N. Sheridan) from 7 to 10 PM. Local go-go troupe the Janes will also perform. RSVP online.
Revelers leaving the Holiday Club will still have time to stop by the evening's other "consumer event," a walkable distance away at the Ravenswood Billboard Factory (4025 N. Ravenswood). "Hornitos Mischieve [sic] in the Garden of Agave" runs from 9 PM to 1 AM. "Beautiful agave girls will greet guests with unique 'Hornitails,'" says the press release, before adding that, despite what you thought, Hornitails are cocktails made with Hornitos tequila. So if you want to "slip into the guise of another self, to enter into a contract to make 'any and all ideas good' for the night, or to roll suggestive dice at the bar," send a suggestive email to email@example.com. In addition to the tequila cocktails, the indie electro-pop funhouse known as Yacht will be performing for free around 11:30 PM.
