Northwestern University's Dearborn Observatory telescope is open for public observing every Friday from 9 to 11 PM, rain or shine. Containing what was once the largest lens of its kind, the rotating telescope is tucked away near the center of the Evanston campus.
From 9 to 10 PM, groups may reserve one-hour observation sessions; from 10 to 11 PM, walk-ins may use the telescope, though space in the dome is limited. The sessions are hosted by physics and astronomy students, who are also available to answer questions about the universe.
