Northwestern University's Dearborn Observatory telescope is open for public observing every Friday from 9 to 11 PM, rain or shine. Containing what was once the largest lens of its kind, the refracting telescope is tucked away near the center of the Evanston campus.

From 9 to 10 PM, groups can reserve one-hour observation sessions; from 10 to 11 PM, walk-ins can use the telescope, though space in the dome is limited and not wheelchair accessible. The sessions are hosted by physics and astronomy students, who are also available to answer questions about the universe.
