OK. So we know that people are out to destroy cyclists. We know that the city's not doing a very good job turning Chicago into a fashion hub. And I have a small solution. New York City's got a bit of a head start, having just commissioned (!) these, but still: it's pretty awesome:
On the other hand, there's a interesting, concerning comment that I don't know enough about physics or severe head injuries to evaluate: "This is a safety liability. Helmets have a hard shell to decrease friction with other surfaces during an accident. Used to be cyclists would break their necks from endo’s because the helmet would grip the road while the person’s momentum carried them on. There are safer methods of keeping warm than this."
