The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum is celebrating its tenth anniversary with ten days of free admission, games, guest speakers, and other special events starting today.
Activities vary by day; Sunday is Bug-a-Palooza, with a bug cooking demo where visitors can sample the "creepy crawlies," immediately followed by a roach feeding where attendees will watch death's head cockroaches enjoy their lunch. Also bring in your old gym shoes to be recycled and your old bikes to donate to Working Bikes, a nonprofit organization that repairs and sells donated bicycles to fund shipments of bicycles and their parts to developing countries. Bikes for all ages are accepted.
Programs are free unless otherwise noted. Find more information, a schedule of daily offerings and register for programs here.
