If only more people were as concerned about their everyday clothes as they are about their Halloween costumes. For those of us for whom every day is an opportunity to dress up, here are some events this weekend and beyond:

Bloomingdale's holds its 14th annual Shopping Benefit. Buy a $10 ticket at 900 N. Michigan, the home store at the Medinah Temple, or Old Orchard and get 15 to 20 percent off your purchases for the day, as well as free entry to related entertainment and events. Ticket proceeds go to over 60 area nonprofits. Call 312-440-4515 for info.

Over at Water Tower, check out a fashion show of cold-weather styles from French Connection, Akira, and Custo Barcelona at 6 PM.

Robin Richman holds a Halloween party from 5 to 8 featuring new jewelry by Ryan Davies and selected images from the Museum of Mourning Photography & Memorial Practice. Guests are encouraged to show up in "eccentric" costumes; the best will be awarded a prize.

Friday through the weekend:
Still haven't settled on a costume? Surely you can find something suitable among the approximately 15,000 examples of vintage clothing, accessories, and textiles at the Chicago Vintage Clothing Show, an offshoot of the well-known Manhattan event. Vintage dealers from Chicago and all over the country will set up shop in Plumbers Hall in the West Loop. There's a preview party Friday night; tickets are $25 in advance, $35 at the door. Tickets for Saturday and Sunday are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
