The Lifter Puller reissues that came out last month have generated a lot of interest, which I, a devoted Lifter Puller evangelist, am totally digging. Unfortunately for these new fans, the likelihood of the band getting together for another reunion show seems very slim, based on what former members have been saying. This week Pitchfork is offering the third or fourth best thing: a 1997 set videotaped in 1987 quality on a sparsely decorated set at St. Cloud State University. Bonus features: a fairly awkward band interview and an early version of "Sangre de Stephanie" with a lyrical reference to Slapshot.
