A colossal batch of new show announcements came in this week—a sure sign that spring is almost here, 12 inches of snow or no 12 inches of snow. April is just splitting at the seams with impending awesomeness. I'd already scribbled several great shows into my personal calendar before this round of Early Warnings—the Black Lips, Dillinger Escape Plan, Pissed Jeans, Small Black, the XX, Mission of Burma—and now there are even more. If you're anything like me you're gonna blow your whole tax return on live music in April.

This issue's new Early Warnings are highlighted by Aloha, Aqualung, Flying Lotus, High on Fire, Jonsi, Killing Joke, Monotonix, and White Rabbits. But that's only scratching the surface. You can check 'em all out after the jump:

Aloha at the Empty Bottle on April 22
Aqualung at Schubas on May 5 (on sale Friday at noon)
Asylum Street Spankers at SPACE on May 23 (on sale Saturday at 11 AM)

Also, don't forget that the Pitchfork Music Festival (July 16 through 18 in Union Park) has announced a few artists in its lineup (Pavement, Modest Mouse, St. Vincent, Lightning Bolt) and put weekend and single-day passes up for sale.
