Chicago jazz musician Kelan Phil Cohran
performs a free set on Tue 5/18 at 7 PM in Puck's Cafe at the Museum of Contemporary Art
(220 E. Chicago). Cohran's show is part of a month-long series of performances by artists who have been featured in Steve Krakow's comic The Secret History of Chicago Music
, which runs every other week in the Reader

Cohran played trumpet in the Sun Ra Arkestra before going on to form his own Artistic Heritage Ensemble; he also cofounded the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM).
