Deleece Grill Pub hosts a Two Brothers beer dinner, with five courses created by chef Josh Hansen with beer pairi. Dishes include arugula salad with candied plums and goose pancetta, paired with Resistance IPA, and grilled soft shell crab with a sweet corn cake and Dog Days Dortmunder-style lager. 7 PM, 3313 N. Bicycle advocacy group the Active Transportation Alliance kicks off its Bike and Dine series with a tour of eateries of the western suburbs. The 12-mile ride begins and ends at Marion Street Cheese Market in Oak Park; stops for snacking include Chew Chew Cafe in Riverside and Brown Cow Ice Cream Parlor in Forest Park. Register here. An all-you-can-eat-and-drink pig roast includes PBR drafts and cocktails from Sailor Jerry and Stoli. There’s also a 140-pound pig, sourced from Slagel Farm and spit-roasted under the careful supervision of Helge Pedersen, who was featured last year in a Reader article on the underground charcuterie movement. 2-6 PM, the Orbit Room, 2959 N. Now in its second year, BBQ Bootcamp introduces attendees to three regional styles of barbecue—North Carolina, Texas, and Tennessee—with interactive demos and tastings, plus a take-home gift bag.
