Bicycle advocacy group the Active Transportation Alliance kicks off its Bike and Dine series with a tour of eateries of the western suburbs. The 12-mile ride begins and ends at Marion Street Cheese Market in Oak Park; stops for snacking include Chew Chew Cafe in Riverside and Brown Cow Ice Cream Parlor in Forest Park. Register here. An all-you-can-eat-and-drink pig roast includes PBR drafts and cocktails from Sailor Jerry and Stoli. Now in its second year, BBQ Bootcamp introduces attendees to three regional styles of barbecue—North Carolina, Texas, and Tennessee—with interactive demos and tastings, plus a take-home gift bag.
