Due to the Fourth of July weekend, the bounty of Early Warnings isn't as plentiful as in weeks past, but you'll still find a few gems.

Metro hosts indie-pop darlings Ra Ra Riot on October 5 and the venerable Gary Numan on October 26, performing his pioneering 1979 synth-pop album The Pleasure Principle (yeah, the one with "Cars") in its entirety. New wavers Tom Tom Club (Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz of Talking Heads) hit the same venue at the end of September.

Other highlights include the English Beat at Double Door with Bad Manners, a rare visit from the A Frames at the Empty Bottle, Hot Hot Heat (remember them?) at Lincoln Hall, and Field Music at Beat Kitchen.
