Obviously the big news in Reader music this week is our guide to the Pitchfork Music Festival, which gets front-page treatment this year. The handy pull-out section inside includes a map, schedule, and more opinions than you probably care to hear from our roster of critics. The Reader's Biker Village even gets its own cute little cover-wrap thing.
But Pitchfork isn't the only festival in town. We've also got info on Lilith Fair and Evanston's Ethnic Arts Festival (both of which are this weekend), and Photo Pit is all pics from last weekend's Chosen Few House Music Reunion Picnic.
On top of all this festival coverage there's a Gossip Wolf with the best ever Eminem poop pun, my profile of Gary rapper Freddie Gibbs (who appears at Pitchfork on Saturday and hosts a party at Beauty Bar tonight), a Secret History of Chicago Music on Sally Fingerett, and List recommendations for Cap'n Jazz, Ariel Pink, Konono No. 1, and more.
