Friday is Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mark Kirk's lucky day: In addition to receiving $3.4 million in help from the National Republican Senatorial Committee to beat Soprano-American Democratic candidate Alexi Giannoulias, he's also the featured candidate on the NRSC's website. Thanks to fancy technologies, the website runs Kirk's Twitter underneath his picture, so it's like he's always saying new things (plus old things, like the recurring hashtags #tcot, #ilgop and #chicago).

Shira Toeplitz at Politico reports that Kirk's windfall was made possible thanks to a change in Illinois elections ruling "that effectively doubles the total allowable amount that candidates can collect in fund-raising — and committees can spend in coordination with candidates." Kirk's coffers now hold four times as much as Giannoulias's Italian leather money purse. And Giannoulias used to be the one who owned the bank! Kind of funny, if you think about it.
