Two writers whose new books are reviewed in the Reader's Fall Books Sampler make appearances on Saturday, November 6
After that, you can skip over to the Field Museum (1400 S. Lake Shore Dr.), where at 1 PM Jay Kirk presents Kingdom Under Glass: A Tale of Obsession, Adventure, and One Man's Quest to Preserve the World's Great Animals, his compelling story about renowned taxidermist Carl Akeley, who mounted the African elephants on display in the museum's Stanley Field Hall. Kirk's talk is free with museum admission.
