The snow is slamming us, and bearing down in a cold and potentially life-threatening manner. Massive, it takes aim—dumping snow and packing wind, threateningly. It's already begun snarling the transportation and disturbing the news cycle.
No regular storm, obviously, but a huge, powerful monster, ruthlessly carving a path across the country while it hits and chomps us. It's a blizzard, tasking the resources and testing our patience. We must brace ourselves, batten down the hatches and hold on. Take it seriously! "Do not travel!" warns the National Weather Service, using exclamation points for emphasis. Just stay inside. Don't try to fly anywhere—you can't.
What is the storm's name? Some say it's #CarolSnowsleyBraun, making up for its crackhead commentary by creating a beautiful, powdery reality that will unite us as one. Others call it thundersnow or snowpocalypse, because those words have become popular this year. And some say it's powersnow, powered by wrath. The wrath of God? Or Mother Nature? Whichever the case, it might end up becoming the storm of the century.
Have you ever felt so powerless?
