Tonight Clever Alice, 1920 N. Damen, celebrates the opening of its show of paintings by local artist Helene Bizouerne and also offers 10 percent off your purchase. The store will also donate 10 percent of the event's proceeds to Burr Elementary School. It's from 5 to 9 PM.

Also tonight, in Roscoe Village, several neighborhood shops are participating in the fourth annual "It's in the Bag" event: each time you make a purchase, you'll get a bag filled with gifts, including gift certificates to area restaurants and salons. Each purchase also enters you in a contents to win a $400 shopping spree. Tonight's events also include the launch of a pop-up shop at p45 for clothing line Brochu Walker, with special guests Lisa Brochu and Lauren Walker, the company's founders. It's from 5 to 8 PM; shoppers receive a gift with purchase. The pop-up shop runs through April 21.

Friday evening, Tel Aviv Couture holds a trunk show and sale featuring the new collection from Israeli clothing designer Sigal Dekel. It's from 5 to 7 PM at 30 E. Huron, suite 4909. RSVP to guestlist@telavivcouture.com.

This weekend brings the sixth annual Cheap Thrills event, a multiboutique blowout sale with clothes, shoes, and accessories from Eskell, City Soles, Penelope's, and Tangerine offered at deep discounts. It's at 1539 N. Damen (second floor) on Saturday from 11 AM to 6 PM and Sunday from noon to 5 PM.

Also this weekend, Cerato Boutique is offering 10 percent off dresses, many by local designers, all day Saturday and Sunday.
