- Shark jaw ring with topaz by Icarus & Co., $470
Publicists send me a lot of info about clothing and jewelry lines—most of them forgettable, some just awful. But occasionally one makes me spend 20 minutes perusing the site and trying to figure out how I can juggle the budget to buy something. That was the case with New York-based jewelry line Icarus & Co.
, designed by Krys DeMauro and Caroline Mullen. Inspired by forms from the earth and the sea, the pieces have a haute-hippie aesthetic that's perfect for the dog days of summer, even if you're not spending it on the Hamptons. Some pendants are cast from crab claws and spiny seashells and rings feature the forms of eagles, buffalo heads, and even a shark jaw cradling a semiprecious stone. Prices range from about $47 to $450 and up.
