Heads up: The insane race to snag tickets for the series of free performances that constitute the Chicago Dancing Festival (August 23-27) starts July 19, at 10:00 AM.
They don't make it simple — tickets for events at each of three different locations will be released at varying times in various ways on consecutive days this week — but it's all laid out on the festival Web site. Tomorrow's batch are for events at the Museum of Contemporary Art, including a program hosted by Martha Graham impersonator Richard Move. They can be claimed at the box office, by phone, or on the Internet; if the past is any indicator, they'll be gone in a flash. No tickets are necessary for the grand finale, which will include performances by New York City Ballet, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Ballet West, and more. That's set for 7:30 PM, August 27 at the Pritzker Pavilion. Get there early if you want a seat.
