Take a look at the cover of this week's B Side reproduced directly to the left of these words and you will immediately notice two things: 1) that it's once again time for the massive Chicago Jazz Festival (which started today at noon), and 2) that for I don't know how many years running the Reader isn't advertising our equally massive guide to the festival with the slogan "Jazzed for Jazz Fest," which I have no idea why not. If 49 sets in four days isn't enough jazz for you we've got a comprehensive guide to the many afterfest jam sessions happening over the weekend.

If jazz isn't your bag you might be interested in this weekend's funky African Festival of the Arts (Al B. Sure and Chico DeBarge sharing the same stage!) or the ravey/jammy/rappy North Coast Music Festival. Indie psych-pop weirdos Of Montreal will be performing at the latter, and for this week's Artist on Artist we had OM bassist Davey Pierce chat with Autumn Defense front man, Wilco sideman, and all-around nice guy Pat Sansone.

Our latest In Rotation offers picks from Reader assistant music editor Kevin Warwick, Threadless marketing manager and emo legend Bob Nanna, and Nanna's boss, Threadless founder Jake Nickell. Gossip Wolf's got the dish on Tortoise drummer John Herndon's recent venture into making the craziest and most amazing tattoos, a possible move for Flosstradamus's Josh Young, and the latest banger to come from Chrissy Murderbot's new label, which you can preview for free on SoundCloud.
