On Thursday, September 29, from 6 to 9 PM Resonance Wine & Spirit Distribution is hosting a "Rare Vines" tasting featuring more than 40 wines from small producers, craft spirits, and cocktails by In Fine Spirits mixologist Cody Modeer. It's in the second-floor lounge, attendance is capped at 100—and it's only ten bucks, so if you're interested, move fast. Coincidentally, In Fine Spirits chef Marianne Sundquist is taking part in a special event earlier in the week, cooking the inaugural dinner in a new "Chef Showcase" series at 694 Wine & Spirits, to be held on Monday, September 26, from 6 to 9 PM.
The theme for her five-course meal (plus dessert) is "Last Harvest"; it will feature local purveyors including South Pork Ranch and Gunthorp Farms and locally grown produce—heirloom tomatoes, sweet corn, golden beets, pea tendrils, and more. The plan is for the series to continue through the end of the year, with events on the first and last Monday of the month; dinners, which are limited to 25 people, will include pairings provided by 694 and are $100 per person.
