Today in news that we already knew, in our hearts, was true: results of a recent study suggest that drinking coffee wards off depression, at least in professional nurses who also happen to be women. The study—called the Nurses' Health Study—tracked more than 50,000 female nurses over a ten-year period, finding the following:
Women who drank more than four cups of coffee per day had one-fifth less of a risk of experiencing depression than women who consumed less than one cup per week. Those drinking two to three cups per day also had less of a risk — 15 percent or so less.
